A little about Luciano
Luciano was born in Griffith to Italian parents with origins from the Abruzzo region in Italy. Luciano's mother was the cook in the home, and this is where he was inspired as a young boy to cook delicious Italian cuisine.
Luciano moved to Sydney at the age of 18 and worked across a variety of Italian restaurants, developing his skills in hospitality and knowledge of Italian cuisine. In the mid-nineties, Luciano moved to Italy and lived in Rome and Milano where he furthered his culinary skills in some of the top restaurants.
Not long after that, Luciano started working for the Italian airline Alitalia. After two years, he returned home to Australia and began his career at Qantas as an international flight attendant. For 21 years, his global travel opened his eyes to the cuisines of the world and truly solidified his passion for cooking.
In 2016, Luciano auditioned for the popular TV series, My Kitchen Rules, and was very successful
as one of the show's most popular contestants. The show provided a wonderful platform to expand his cooking talents, offering catering for entertainment events and private functions, cooking classes and much more. Something dear to Luciano's heart is raising money for the neo natal unit at the Westmead Children's Hospital where he loves to see the children benefitting from his support.
To continue sharing his love and passion for Italian cuisine, Luciano has started his own business Luciano Food by Design where he offers catering, cooking classes and his own homemade gnocchi.
